If your pet goes missing

  1. Call me straight away.
  2. Search nearby calmly, calling their name and shaking treats. Don't chase.
  3. Ring the vet and local rescue centres, and tell the council's dog warden.
  4. Make a poster at pet-tag.app/lost-pet-poster and share it in local lost and found groups.

What to put on a pet sitter sheet

  • How to reach you, and an emergency contact who's staying in the UK.
  • Your vet's name, phone number and address, and the microchip number.
  • Food: what, how much and when, and whether treats are allowed.
  • Medication, with the doses and times written down.
  • Their routine, habits and fears, like fireworks or the doorbell.
  • What to do if your pet goes missing. The sheet adds the steps for you.
