Personalised dog tags with a QR code and your address on the back.
Your surname, house number and postcode on the back, the details UK law asks a dog to wear in public. On the front, a QR code anyone can scan with their phone camera to see your dog's page and message you. One tag does both jobs, from £13.
Fireworks season: order by Thursday 29 October for your tag to arrive before Bonfire Night.

How it works
1. Type your details
Add your surname, and your house number or name and postcode, when you order. You see how they'll look on the tag before you pay.
2. We make it for you
Printed to order in the UK, in black letters set into the back so they can't rub off, and posted within 2 working days.
3. Anyone can scan it
Whoever finds your dog reads your details on the back, or scans the front with their phone camera to see your dog's page and message you.
One tag that does both jobs
Your details for the law
Surname, house number or name and postcode: the usual short version of the name and address a dog must wear in public.
A QR code for everything else
A photo, your dog's name, notes like allergies or medication, and a way to message you, all on the page the code opens.
Your number stays private
Finders message you through the page, so your phone number doesn't have to be on the tag or on show.
Lost mode
Switch it on and anyone who scans the tag sees your dog is missing. You're emailed when it's scanned.
Made to last
The code and the letters are set into the tag, not printed on top, so mud, rain and swims won't wear them off.

What UK law asks a dog's tag to show
In a public place, the Control of Dogs Order 1992 says a dog must wear a collar with its owner's name and address on it, or on a tag attached to it. That applies even if your dog is microchipped.
Your surname, house number or name, and postcode is the usual short version, and it's what we put on the back. A phone number isn't required, so it can stay on your dog's page, where finders message you without seeing it.
How it compares
A PetTag against an engraved tag, a GPS tracker and a microchip. It works alongside the microchip, not instead of it.

What owners say
“Love this tag. The no subscription is so good. Once you’ve paid for your tag, that’s it, no more cost. You can easily change any messages as well. For example temporary medical issues or if you are away and a friend is looking after them you can add their details. What’s not to love!”

Questions
What can I have on the back?
Two lines of up to 12 characters each: usually your surname on the first, and your house number or name and postcode on the second, like SMITH and 12 W9 2BA. Letters, numbers, spaces and - . & all work. The shop checks your lines as you type and shows how they'll look.
Is a personalised dog tag a legal requirement in the UK?
A tag with your details is. In a public place, a dog must wear its owner's name and address on its collar or a tag attached to it (the Control of Dogs Order 1992), even if it's microchipped. Your surname, house number and postcode is the usual short version.
UK dog collar and tag lawShould I put my phone number on it?
You don't have to. The law asks for your name and address, not a phone number. With a PetTag, finders scan the QR code and message you through your dog's page, so your number can stay private.
Should my dog's name be on the tag?
The law doesn't ask for it, and some owners leave it off so a stranger can't call the dog by name. Your dog's name is on the page the QR code opens instead.
How much is a personalised tag?
£13 for one tag with your details on the back: the £10 tag plus £3. Packs of two, three and four cost £24, £35 and £44. Delivery in the UK is free and there's no subscription.
How long does it take to arrive?
Personalised tags are made to order and posted within 2 working days by Royal Mail, which usually takes 1 to 3 working days more.
Can I return a personalised tag?
Because it's made with your details, a personalised tag can't be returned just for a change of mind. If it arrives faulty or with anything different from what you typed, we put it right.
Refunds and returnsWhat happens when someone scans the front?
Your dog's page opens in their phone's browser, with no app to download. They see your dog's photo and your notes, and can message you and share where they are.
What if I move house?
The back would need new details, so order a new personalised tag and move your dog's page onto it in a few taps. The page itself, with your phone and email, you can change any time.
What size is it? Will it suit a small dog?
It's 40 mm across (45 mm with the loop), 5 mm thick and about 4 g, light enough for a cat, so it suits small dogs as well as big ones. It hangs from a split ring on the collar's D-ring like any other tag.
Will the writing wear off?
No. The letters on the back and the QR code on the front are set into the tag in black, flush with the surface, not printed on top, so walks, rain and swims won't rub them off.
Is there a subscription?
No. You pay once, £13 for a tag with your details, with free UK delivery, and your dog's page and lost mode stay free for life.
Does my dog still need a microchip?
Yes. In the UK a dog must be microchipped and wear a tag with your details in public: they're two separate rules. The chip can only be read with a scanner; the tag can be read by anyone on the spot.
Dog microchipping lawDo you make personalised cat tags too?
Yes, it's the same tag, at about 4 g. Cats don't have to wear a tag by law, but their details on the back help a neighbour too.
